Why and When to Decorate the Getaway Car
Groomsmen are the ones who are responsible for decorating the getaway car, which is not the easiest thing to do. Usually, the car decoration supposes the train of cans clanking behind the car, “Just Hitched” phrase written on the back window with soap etc. Our simple guide will make your wedding automobile decorating process much simpler.
When do decorate?
Bride’s mother is the person who usually defines the right time for car decorating, especially if she is fully occupied with the wedding setting process. Find an appropriate moment and ask her the approximate time of couple’s getaway. If she doesn’t know the answer, try to ask the groom in the veiled manner. Make sure to finish with the car decorating before it rides off with the bride and groom inside.
The type of materials you will use fully depends on the car, which couple chooses. In case they plan to rent a limo, ask the driver before the embellishment limitations before actually starting doing it. You don’t want your newlywed friends paying the cleaning fee the day after the wedding.
In case the newlywed will use the best man’s or even groom’s car, you can step outside the board and do whatever you just may think of. But make sure you don’t use materials that can damage the car finish including the spray paint, whipped cream since the sugar can destroy the paint, electrical and masking tape. Also keep in mind that tin cans can ruin the pavement.
The safest ways of decorating the getaway car is using the soap of shaving cream for making a sign. Instead of the cans, opt for the plastic bottles. You may also consider attaching the ribbon to the antenna and front bumper and the streamer flower to the roof, but remember to use the type of tape that won’t damage the paint. If you want to have some extra space for the text, you may fasten the placard to the car’s rear.
Why to decorate?
Decorated cars always evoke the wave of positive emotions from the people on the streets. Once the passerbys or drivers see the embellished wedding car, they start screaming out the congratulations, waving from their cars and honking their horns. Newlyweds will probably be happy to see unfamiliar people sharing their happiest moment with them.
Even though traditionally couples tend to leave the reception on the decorated car, why not to consider arriving on it as well. It is so nice seeing the wedding cars decorated with the paper rosettes and ribbons at the streets. Make your journey to the reception fun and joyful.
